Interview with Genevieve Mendoza-Lavanchy

- What is your role within the World Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Federation ?
I am the President of world development and Vice President of the World Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Federation.

- What are the projects in short and long term ?
First of all we send materiel such as, nets, balls, documents and communication equipment to countries that are in need and I visit and control that the materiel sent is put into good use and the systems in place national associations work.
In short term championships, meetings, and cups will be put into place. They already exist in certain countries.
In long term we can imagine teems from Africa, Pacific, and America to defend there colours in the Olympic games .

- What are the main things in your heart ?
The respect of the ethic code and a total confidence in the World Federation.

- What could be said about your professional life
  before joining the WVBF ?
I have worked in the theatre world as stage director, in Paris with a professional troop. I have also worked in the music business as artistic director and organiser for musical events also in the cinema business as producer.
I am the mother of 5 children

- What fundamental valour do you defend in heart for the WVBF ?
Justice before anything, as I think it would be an error to say that everybody is equal. The defavorised deserve that we listen and give them a particular helping hand. In work as in my private life, justice and compassion are essential for me.

- What are your gaols within the World Federation for the next
  two years ?
That the national Federations thru ought the world recognise spirit, ethic and fundamental valour’s as the creation of the WVBF are founded on and of my participation to this cause.

-What are your strongest points ?
I think that there is a solution to all problems, and it is in this way I try to understand and help my surroundings: I think that this is one of my qualities and it is appreciated. I have all so learnt to keep my cool in crisis situations.

-What are your weakest points ?
I am not comfortable with administration papers: I admit its somewhat of a burden for me. Disorderly at times but I can all ways find what I am looking for !

-Do you have a comment or a message to send ?
Man is born big but becomes small in front of others. It is important in certain contexts to gather people together to concretise and leave his ego in his pocket. We have a lot of hard work in front of us, in a constructive spirit and we work hard for the ethic development of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball all over the world.
